Titan Tower version 2

You can only mount it in 2 positions on AM3, not 4, so I can either have it with the fan drawing air from the GPUs, or the roof. Fantastic design that.

This might have something to do with the mounting holes not being in a square shape, so all AM2/AM3 etc coolers have this.

This is what we are talking about, being able to fit a cooler in all four directions.

I dont give a hoot about being able to turn a fan around 180degrees.

The problem Muel referred to, and to which you responded, was only being able to fit a cooler drawing air from the GPU or the top of the case.

I've provided 3 solutions to that problem which use the standard AMD mounting.

2 of those solutions can also be mounted with the fan in any direction just like Intel coolers with square mounting holes.

He was talking about the mounting design, nothing to do with fans.

You can only mount it in 2 positions on AM3, not 4,

So you have found 1 cooler which can be fitted to the mount in all directions.

Try quoting the whole post:

I have one. It's not bad, but it's not good.

I should replace it really, but I just took my overclocking off instead. Far too lazy to swap a CPU cooler for a measily 400mhz increase. :p

The problem was the fan drawing air from the GPUs, or the roof of the case, which is caused by the mounting design.

The 3 coolers I've given details of solve that problem as they can be mounted with the fan blowing in the more "normal" front to back orientation.

I dont know what your talking about?

But Muel and I were talking about the mounting design of AMD only being able to fit in two directions.

The problem actually was he could not rotate the cooler 90degrees like you can with a Intel square mounting design, nothing about fans.

I don't know whay you're talking about either.

Muel expressed a problem with the orientation in which coolers can be mounted on AMD.

I provided 3 solutions and you seem to have a problem with that.

If anyone wants an AMD cooler which can be mounted with the fan blowing front to back they're now aware of at least 3 choices.

There's no point in discussing this any further.

Peace and out.

I dont have a problem with it.

But him and I were talking about mounting a cooler in more than two ways.

to which the TX3 can.

the Ninja cant, but luckily its fan can be fitted to all four sides.

The above posts are massively confusing (IMO), so here is a sum up.

The AM3 cooler mounting is RUBBISH compared to 775 and above. (Who's idea was a rectangle? Really?). This means that the Titan Fenrir has to point at the GPUs, which is stupid. It will almost go all 4 ways actually, the brackets holes will almost line up I seem to remember from when I tried it, but alas.

There are a few front to back mountable coolers available now. The D14, and the Silver Arrow were the ones I posted because they're the only ones I have any knowledge of.

So, back what this thread is actually about, it's an OK cooler (on Intel would be ,good) but it's a bit old, better ones are available for less now. Steer clear on AM3, in my opinion. Other people may have other opinions, just saying that having owned one since 2009, I'd look elsewhere these days.
