I currently have a Titan X watercooled but have been offered a brand spanking new GTX1080 for a very good price- I should break even with the sale of the Titan along with it's watercooling gubbins as I have to downsize to a MATX case due to lost office space.
I might be able to cram in the Titan with the 6700k on a single rad but wondered if it is worth the effort as I use a Gsync 27 2560*1440 monitor and would think that the noise and heat of the 1080 on air with an AIO for the 6700 would be a better fit
Any comments would be most welcomed

If ya can upgrade for virtually no cost i would take it, not sure which card has the better cooler, thats the one i would pick though if your gonna be cramming it in a small case.

Firstly if it's a FE then it's a solid no, they throttle when in a case.

Given your TX is watercooled I would stick with it, not worth the hassle and slight risk for virtually no gain (assuming your TX is overclocked)

Unless you are thinking VR then it's a resounding yes.
