Okay iknow this will probably end up sounding silly but is the TITAN the best graphics card for gaming forgetting about the price right now , does it hands down give the best results?

Before you jump in and get one, I would wait for the 780 release then decide

Out of interest, what res will you be using?

My money would go to 2 7970's or 2 680's or just wait for the 700 series.

If i had the money i would be all over a titan.

Just admit you want it all :)

The Titan is the fastest single GPU card available

If anyone want's to argue, these guys will be more than happy to talk to you about it.:D:p:)

I would wait a bit, if you jump now you may find that you have made a colossal mistake. 20nm 9970 will be out at the end of this year and Nvidia with the GTX 800 soon after that no doubt.

There's always likely to be something faster out in the next 6-12 months but right now TITAN is the best card on the market though it doesn't justify the price tag.

A GTX 690 or one of the ATI dual GPU cards are likely faster overall but performance seems to vary depending on the drivers and game you are playing. I've heard of so many issues from folks with dual GPU setups that I'd personally rather have a single GPU solution like the TITAN if money were no object.

Unfortunately I'm unwilling to simply burn the stuff so I'm going to buy a 770 or 780 when they're released rather than a TITAN :)

Best single core card yes... but not the best performing card if we count in the 690 and 7990.

It would be if my only game was F1 2012 :p

Boring....Who wants to wait, wait, wait? Always something around the corner and with that attitude, nothing would be bought.

Normally I would agree with you, but we are not talking about a token 15-20%, this time just to wait until around the end of the year is a better idea for the 20nm GPU's which look set to blow the GTX Titan out of the water and no doubt for less money.

In my opinion spending £500 / £600 / £700 now on a GTX 600 refresh or a cut down Titan when something much faster hits the market in not to many months is a bad idea, you will never get anywhere near your £500 / £600 / £700 back when the 20nm GPU's go on sale, so in 6 moths you will loose a lot of money or be stuck with something expensive and yet much slower.

For me its better not to spend that money on a token upgrade, or a renamed / rehashed existing GPU.

Go second hand on a GTX 680 if your that desperate to burn money, you may well have a GTX 770 under another name anyway :)

It will only be the flagship models from AMD and Nvidia on the 20nm process that will be able to equal/beat the Titan and even then you will have to part with a shedload of money for the opportunity.

My old 5970s can give a lot of modern cards a run for their money.

See the trouble with that Humbug is proof. I have seen one report that AMD are not jumping to 20nm and will indeed be doing a refresh as was first pointed out of the 28nm. TSMC are reported to have 20nm ready but I don't believe any of that is for AMD or Nvidia but Apple.

Not that it matters and I would like someone to say "We are working on 20nm for the next Gen" or to confirm they are not. It makes our jobs for recommendations harder and why is it so hard for PR of AMD to let us know?

Can you show me that report where AMD are sticking with 28nm and not going to 20nm, because if its the one I think it is anyone with an ounce of sense can see it makes no sense as what that report is proposing is impossible.

If you don't believe TSMC have 20nm ready then I can't provide you with anymore proof than that, its a little to convenient to blacketly dismiss that.

Look, its not our job to push one thing or another on to someone, or generate sales for a brand, we offer our opinions, this is mine, I feel its sensible and i'm sticking with it.

That as they say is that. :)

The OP can read those opinions and come to an informed decision, with that its better to be informed than not.

Can you provide proof that they are working on 20nm? I am not fussed either way and would prefer you to be right and me wrong. I just read an article that had TSMC working on 20nm and that was for Apple.

I wouldn't claim to know either way and was saying it would be nice for AMD to confirm.

Edit:

No idea what Blacketly means?
