Titanfall 2 - have you seen its multiplatform?

Downloading the open multiplayer tech test on PS4 now.

It's also available on Xbox One:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/sto...973X799967X23e8769065f2d7a1064f4ac57ed63d0a)()

Xbox One version - 17.47GB
PS4 version - 12.57 GB

Should be able to play from 4 p.m. UK time.

I enjoyed the first one, though I only played it for a month or so before it lost my interest and I move on to other games.

Looks like they've increased the player limit from 12 to 16 on certain modes, which is slightly better.

Would like a 24-32 player mode on PC though without any grunts/bots.

Nice, do you know how long the multiplayer test runs for?

Impressions seem that the changes made havent been for the best - I wont get to play until next weekend so more opinions from here the better!

With BF1 and COD out in the same month, I think the community just isnt going to be that big - on face value more interested in this than the others but thats purely because of the traversal...
They didn't ruin it for me, they were easy kills to speed up your Titan drop.
This time around they arent on a timer but related to points so you have to earn your Titan

That's a good point and I'm actually surprised they are releasing when they are, I thought they may have held off until say March 2017.

I think BF1 will be big this year and COD will be popular if only for Modern Warfare so the community on this one may die off quickly like it did last time.

I've had a few games tonight, it's OK but the matchmaking is broken, most of the time sides are uneven meaning maybe a couple of people on either side or 6v2 etc (I know thats the point of this test).

The Pilot vs Pilot maps seems too big for the number of players. Bounty Hunt is just confusing as nobody is playing any sort of objective so it just drags.

I'm not bothered about COD at all this year. The only reason I've got it is because I got the Legacy Edition for £40. This game and BF1 are what I'm more interested in.

I played a few matches earlier and thought it was good fun. Hit detection is spot on and I didn't notice any lag.

Pilot v Pilot just seems a completely pointless mode. I don't see the point in playing this game if you aren't using the Titans.

I played Amped Hardpoint and thought it was pretty good. Lots of grunts to kill.

Titans seem to take ages to earn now. I preferred when they were on a timer as it means the better skilled players will now earn more of them.

So compared to the first game, gaining your Titan is purely based on points gained rather than a timer that can be reduced by kills? not sure I agree with that. As you said the better players will gain their Titans a lot faster giving them an opportunity to dominate. And if a team ends up with even 2-3 much better players it'll be a stomping match.

And do you get points by killing bots? If so you can therefore speed up your Titan drop by killing them still ;)
I dont see your point, if you dont amass enough points you wont get a Titan while in TF1 it was a guarantee - it was geared to work like that. Also bots arent in all gametypes now...

Also a load of the Gamescom footage doesnt have Titans until nearly 10mins into a game; in TF1 you could have called a few in in that time...

Took a lot longer to get a titanfall in the game I played than in the original. Only had two in the match. I wasn't being completely useless either, was running a 2.5 ish k/d. Much more general FPS combat than titans.

Playing this just makes me want to play the original, it seemed so much better balanced. This is just too much like Call of Duty for me :(

Hopefully they take the feedback on board because technically the engine seems solid and the servers have been good for me. If not I think they could find this game gets lost between BF1 and CoD and that might spell the end of the franchise which would be a real shame.

Just did a few of games of Hardpoint and only saw a couple of Titans and that was generally at the end of the game. I'm not sure if that's because people are choosing not to use them or what but certainly for a game of Titans there appears to be a lack of Titans in all games.

Just finished a couple of hours on the PS4, wasn't sure how it was gonna play/look as I played TF1 on PC, I have to say I was quite impressed, though they can ditch the sonar/wall hack .

I read but wasn't sure, but is there no way to "load out" yoru Titans any more, they come as fixed units with fixed weapons?

Hard point seems almost impossible to get a titan at a good point in the match, the first game you could get at least 2 if not 4 throughout the match, if you play bounty hunt you get them much quicker and more like hard point from the first game,

think this has lots going for it and could be a great game, but you get the feeling its going to be a much better game on PC due to the control system and the fluid movement system

I just got a message this morning that a server patch has been rolled out and you can now get Titans faster
