Titanfall (XB1/360)

Innovation might be the wrong word, but certainly a refreshing take on cps, I don't by the whole, it was done in x game first, you can go all the way back to Doom with that thinking, but certainly the free running aspect and balecing that off again the big lumbering Titans is a very nice contrast.

Its not the first game to use big lumbering robots as a contrast to the main event though.

Its got a Unreal Tournament vibe for me, which isn't a bad thing as I spent many hours on that back in 99.

Bought the Mexican version on Origin. V Sync is borked on the PC so you have to endure bad tearing or stutters and latency issues, this on both my laptop with a Nvidia GPU and my home rig running AMD. The Xbox One version I've played also has tearing and big frame drops along with a frame rate constantly below 60fps.

The game wasn't ready. There is no way that this is the vision of the game the the developers intended.

You must be the life and soul of a party huh?
Do you think any casual gamer even cares that much?
No, ya know why, cause this game is jumps in fun, and it works, so we don't care.

Yes it does, but your original statement wasnt that point...

I just dont agree with buying a studio is the same as buying an exclusive. A good example is the excellent upscaler used in Ryse, no doubt MS would have loved to be able to use that as their method, but they bought the exclusive and not the studio.

ps3ud0

Might have guessed you would try and twist and turn, no problem we both agree Sony buy exclusivity on their console just in a different way to MS.

You should care. Games are expensive, the hobby is expensive. I don't care about the casual gamer who doesn't care, more fool them.

Lets face it, you were going to try to rubbish it whatever happened as it's exclusive to MS. I also expect you to be telling us how second son is the most awesomely perfect game ever shortly after release. All so very predictable... :o:(

I'm not a fan of the Infamous series, it doesn't click with me. I'm not sure how you'd compare it to a fast paced twitch shooter either.

Think you need to revisit how your pose things if you want to lead me up the same garden path as you. Having first party studios is different than having third party exclusives, but I never said it doesnt lead to exclusive games.

Guess it was hard to understand

Are there any 3rd party studio exclusives scheduled for PS4 or indeed have been previously on PS3?

Cool glad you finally got there, but let's not have you ruin another XB1 thread with your ways ;)

Fine, what game over the next year, big exclusives with large multiplayer focus, do you see being released with NO issues what so ever?

So if Sony have paid for third party exclusives I'm struggling to understand the point being made about Respawn and Titanfall with stuff like "Sony don't pay for games not to be on another platform" when it seems patently obvious they do.

There's been exclusives on gaming platforms since the start of gaming, why the crying now as if it's something new MS and EA have done? So much hate because there's some good news for XO by the SDF?

Plenty, probably include the majority of the indie ones if they arent on the XO slate. AAA stuff, well MGS4 was a prime example or The Agent if Rockstar ever get around to tackling that...

LOL - always having to wait for me :p;). Actually confused why Sony got brought up in this thread

The presentation is disappointing on all machines, it annoys me when developers can't even get a simple thing like V Sync right.

Been wondering the same thing myself, thought this was a Titanfall thread.

Guess its inevitable the whole xb vs ps thing would come up.
Its really not that hard to talk about an exclusive objectively, just consider it a multiplat. Thief didnt have the same arguments and that was a poorly performing game too..

The FPS is all over the place in this game, doesn't feel like it stays at 60 for very long. Still having an absolute blast on it though haven't put it down all day and tomorrow it will be the same!

This will sell a lot of Xbox consoles, it already sold 90% of what PS4 did in the US in February and I have a feeling in March the Xbox will outsell the PS4. Personally Titanfall is more of a system seller than Infamous.

It's not perfect, but then what game in the history of gaming has been? Heck what software has ever released perfectly? None, at all, ever.

There is the occasional slowdown, on XB1. I have noticed it maybe 1 in 4 games, for about a second. I havn't seen any tearing yet in my games, but have seen it on youtube. I am not too bothered about the resolution either. I would like to see some/more AA, the jaggies aren't horrendous but smoother is always better!

Overall it is a fantastic game. Most fun I have had in ages. Activision should be worried IMHO. Not a console seller, but could easily be a CoD killer. Just hope Destiny lives up to at least some of the hype now.
