is there anyone that has done this and how hard/easy is it to do.

i've searched the web and found pics of people's cases where they've done the conversion to BTX but not found any how to/process of doing it.

i love the case and after all the DX10 has smoothed out a bit i'll be building myself a new rig and was planning on water cooling it.

*Edit typo

Is it not just a case of drilling and tapping the correct mounting holes in the tray / base? Or is the backplates all arranged differently? I have no idea, just that BTX is the more modern form factor designed for thermal efficiency (Do iget a point for that? Or should i get my coat?)

BTX format "WAS" going to be the thermal upgrade from ATX... but never caught on, it was just a diffrent motherboard lay out to promote better cooling of components, a nice idea, got a better chance of VHS returning to replace DVD's.... :D

lol, i know BTX was a good idea that kind of died but if i show you a pic its just a ATX mobo flip~reversed

that's what i want to know how to do, but as far as i'm aware you have to drill out some rivets i think.

back to my original post, is it hard to do?

For any motherboard to be installed BTX style, the motherboard tray has to be on the opposite side to that of an ATX case, and the expansion slots and IO slot would need to be higher up than on an ATX case.

So, I'd have thought not easy to do at all really.

Just sell your ATX case and get a BTX one (Lian LI etc) is the most sensible way forward if you want BTX.

That's not BTX, that's an ATX board upside-down.

i know but upside-down ATX looks better than the standard as you can see the GFX cards etc etc.

i was only enquiring into the chance that someone on these forums had modded a TJ07 into flipped ATX.

when i get the case i think i'm gunna try the mod myself and see what comes of it. obviously will be getting the (opposite) window cut on the side panel to show off insides.

thanks guys :)

I have read a few times on forum how owners of TJ07's have change these case to hold the motherboard upside down(BTX style)...

It sounds very easy to do..

You just need to drill out the bottom motherboard tray slider and move it to the other side and jack it up a bit before screwing it in....

(NOTE: the standard top back 120mm fan don't fit anymore after doing this.).
