sorry if this is in the wrong place, think its fine though. Does anyone know why OCUK don't stock the Silverstone TJ07? I know its hardly a new case but im currently contemplating buying one for a new watercooled build.

And a second question (might as well keep it in the same thread) what cases would people consider for a watercooled build? as ive said i am leaning towards to TJ07 but i havent ruled out other cases, such as the 800d for example. Would appreciate peoples opinions as i plan to keep the case for quite a few upgrades in the years to come, thanks:)

yeah ive thought about how old it is also, i just think the tj07 looks better than the 800d. Although i must admit ive never seen anything but a picture, so pictures might not do it justice:D

Its like a monolith standing next to your monitor :D but is such a nice case really happy with it although the TJ07 will have a slightly bigger scope for water cooling due to its base.

CM ATCS840 is nicely set up for water cooling as is the 800D. They don't look like they require much, if any modding either as they both take rads straight in the roof. Biggest drawback of the TJ07 was that you had to mod the roof to take a rad and even then there wasnt much clearance to the mobo.

Apparently Silverstone have started making the latest revision of the TJ07 with a giant hole cut out of the mobo tray to aid cable routing. It looks utterly naff, lacks finesse and imo makes the case one to avoid.

never considered the CM ATCS840, quite a bit cheaper than the other 2 also. But the 800d just doesnt seem to have a bad word said about it, especially when it comes to watercooling

If you like square boxy cases choose the 800D, if you like curvy cases, choose the TJ07. Simple.

Both are great cases, brilliant for water cooling.

Obviously the 800D owners posting ITT are going to say bad stuff about the TJ07, jealousy... ;)

you can put a quad full fat RAD in the T07 by taking out 8 screws, you can also fit a dual thin RAD in the roof with no modding, haven't used the 800,but it looks good.

You reckon you can get full fat rad in the roof of a TJ07 without modding the roof?? Can't see how.:(

Edit/ I've seen WelshTom do it but that required considerable modding of the roof to hold a quad.

I had a thin 240 Black Ice GT in the roof of mine but had to mod the mesh to secure it properly with screws. There was about 6mm clearance left to the motherboard. What 8 screws are you talking about?

I've seen people slide a thin rad into the existing roof mesh but its not particularly secure.

I used to own a TJ07 mate, jealousy has nothing to do with it. Speaking from experience.
Heres 2 of the rigs I built in it back in the day. Single rad:

Dual rad, fully water cooled EVGA 790sli mobo & GTX260 sli.

Really horses for courses if you want to put potential 1 x 480 + 2 x 240mm rads the the TJ07 is awesome, if you want a more "Standard" wc setup and preffer the looks of the 800D and practicality of it then go for that.

I personally have a tj07 because i have a 480mm and a 240mm rad and it suited my needs perfectly.

But i would definitely buy a 800D if i was doing a smaller WC setup or wanted a aircooled rig.

.

He said a full fat rad in the bottom and a thin dual rad in the roof :p

I was lucky enough to get a TJ07 off the bay for a decent price without the huge hole in the mobo tray :)

I havent seen the 800d in the flesh but from pics imo is looks butt ugly compared to a TJ07

going to go with the 800d, thanks for the replies all:)

good choice.

i personally like both but if i had a choice and the money it would have to be the 800d any day.

if the case is under your desk then it's not a problem looking at it all the time is it.
