To anyone with a Canon 17-40 L lens

I did some tests when I first got my 17-40 and found it's best at F/5.6-8, but pretty good at F/4 too.

Yup - I remember when you entered that in the one of the photo comps last year and I thought it was a good shot that could only be achieved with an IS lens.

SDK, What hood would you recomend to use on the 17 - 40 L on a 1.3x sensor crop?

I'm not sure to be honest.
On 1.3x crop body the 17-40L becomes 22mm at the widest and all the hoods I mentioned above start from 24mm so you might get some vignetting in the corners.

Maybe so. Thanks anyway. Will give them a test if I can.
