To Build or not to build?

You can change the graphics to any card your budget can afford. So with a budget of £1100, a 570 GTX / 6970 is not out of the equation, and a bluray drive / 2600K. Even a 580 with some compromises.

oooh just about. :)

Total : £1,117.38 (includes shipping : £13.75).

If you compare this to a Dell you'd be looking at twice the budget.

MASSIVE overkill for football manager, or anything else for that matter :)

If you do some serious work on your machine, then better invest in a more sensible rig, and some backup server.

EDIT : oups. You will need OS

That HDD is 5400RPM against 7200RPM would it be a noticeable difference?
Yeah i thought i had the K version in - will swap that.
Shall i keep my other fan aswell? or with that bundle just get rid of it?

You won't see that much difference because it will only be used for storage - OS and apps/games are going onto the SSD.

Yeah get rid of the Gelid if you choose the bundle - unless you can be bothered to sell it on, but you probably won't get too much for it.

Ok thank you.
When I'm playing music from my HDD this wont burn it out will it as the drives always spinning?

PSU is fine, if you want to add another GTX580 further in the future for a SLI setup you will need to change it to a 850W+ one.

It will only draw from the wall what you need to power the system, it won't constantly draw full power or anything like that, if that's what you mean.

I was thinking more along the lines of the computer costing an absolute bomb to run.

Well the only way to fix that is to get a Gold rated PSU that will be running at a perfect 60% load and maybe cut back on the GTX580 to something 10% slower but uses less watts such as a GTX570/6950 2GB

Yeah I was thinking of dropping the graphics card as its a bit too expensive for me. Would getting a different PSU hamper performance of the pc overall?

always build yourself it save so much more money that way. I tain't hard to build a computer at all. all depends where u live i would come round and help you build it with you and talk you though it..
listen to stulid, he is the man when specing computers.

If I had a 650w PSU running for 12 hours a day how much would it cost me for a weeks electric?

The more power being drawn from the wall, the more it will cost you.

So if your gaming 100% or the time then it will cost you a lot more than if your computer was idling 100% of the time.

So it all depends on your use.

Well the issue there is the PSU wont be sucking 650w out of the wall socket.

It comes down to how efficient the PSU is, if its say 80% efficient, it would need to pull 812w from the wall.

then theres the cost per KW/hr your elec company charges you.

EDIT: Just realised that the computer wont actually draw 650w of power, more like 150?

More like a total of around 300- 350W for that one GTX580 GPU and the entire system,
