To build or not to build?

Hey guys,

So I need to ask peoples opinions on upgrading Dell computers. As far as I can see you are quite limited with what parts can be used as it is a Dell motherboard and the fact that it is pretty old now!

It is a Dell Dimension 9200, the main problems are that it is slow but all of the other parts seem to be fine for what is needed.

The CPU is a Pentium D 945 and the RAM is 2048MB 533MHz DDR2.

What do you guys think? Upgrade or build a new one? Im guessing a new one!

I'd build a new one, it's fun and rewarding, trouble is i wanna fiddle with it so im guessing it may start to burn a hole in my wallet.

The computer seems old and because its a factory one I would just build a brand new one.

Factory computers can be a pain is the buttox when it comes to upgrading

I can salvage some parts HDD/CD Drive etc anyway.

Are they sata or ide? You may need converters (sata to ide) to use them. Most new motherboards don't carry IDE anymore.
