To buy a Jag XJ TDVi or not? - that is the question.

Anyone have any experience owning a 2005-onward model Jaguar XJ TDVI?
Maybe a big step coming from a 2002 vw bora but im looking for something classy to waft in.
My only concerns are high running costs/parts from a dealer or an independent garage.

If its just a crazy idea i may aswell go back to my original thoughts and go for a new VW scirocco TDI (170) on their finance deal or a bmw 123d.

what are you actually looking for in a car?

the 123d is a fanastic car, i'd take that over a scirocco any day.
probably have it over an XJ too..

do you do enough miles to warrant a diesel?
