To Flex or not to flex.???

Currently i have 2 x 512MB sticks of ram in a gigabyte DS3.
Now if i buy 2 x 1GB sticks of Dual channel geil and put them in would the board go into flex mode.?

Or would the fact that theyre both in pairs together keep them out of flex mode.?

Since its 2 lots of dual channel, im 97.5% certain that it would be dual channel mode. Flex is for odd numbers of sticks.
