To go or not to go...? that is the question

I'd say got for the job, get some experience and training .. finish the degree later or in your part time.. Experience > qualifications..

People very rarely finish a degree if they quit once they've started, it is a simple fact and an unfinshed degree looks bad on your CV trust me. Also University isn't just about getting a certificate it is a life experience that will change you forever, you owe it to yourself and your parents who have no doubt supported you to finish what you've started.

CVs of graduates with no commercial experience tend to be binned.

That is simply not true, maybe if they are applying for jobs at the wrong end of the food chain but if you statement was even reasonably accurate good graduates wouldn't get jobs and they obviously do.

Get the degree - a degree opens many doors later on and generally makes life easier for you. If someone wants you badly now, there will be even more suitors out there in a year from now.

Enjoy the academic life and exploit it for all it is worth - you will never have such an opportunity again.

I'll third that!

My other half has done 2 masters degrees whilst working full time in addition to the masters she got at university before taking on a full time job. You can do it anytime you want - however experience will always take time to build up.

100% agree. Enjoy your last year at uni. After a year on placement, you'll really appreciate uni life.

If the company wants to employ you now, the chances are that they will want to employ you next year. I'm sure they'd rather employ someone they know and with a year's experience doing the job rather than a stranger that they've got to interview and take a risk with.

This, i have an IT degree and still earn less than 25K cos i don't have enough experience yet

I'm a university student currently on placement with an IT company. they want me to continue working for them and have offered me £25k salary. Now do i take this offer or go back and finish my degree?

I know in the long run, having my degree will be more beneficial to me, but with the credit crunch and everything that has been going on lately, would i be better off staying put and do my final year of my degree part time (if thats possible)?

Finish degree, talk to the employer. I knew one person who was sponsored through the last year by his employer and given the job as soon as he finished.
Just out of curiosity, what degree are you doing?
