I have a 7850 at the moment that seems to play most of my games at high/medium no problem. But then ocuk have to put silly prices on the gtx 670/680 which has really made me tempted to go for it and seeming as bf4 is outsoon i think my pc may need a bit of a boost

so what do you guys think should I? and if so which ne 670 or 680?

thanks

If it's for BF4, I'd wait for the new AMD GPUs to come out. It'll favour AMD cards anyway, and there are bound to be lots of 7950/7970 deals before, if you want something sooner.

If I were you I would hold on until BF4 and the new AMD 9xx0 cards were released. At that time current gen cards will have dropped in price again.

AMD & nVidia have it worked out where they never have to slash prices too much when new cards come out. Thanks to gouging this can mean prices don't even move at all sometimes.

These 680 deals won't last, they always clear stock ahead of time and prices stay high for the people who want SLI/xfire. If you don't care about BF4, 2GB VRAM or missing out on new features (DX11.1) then you can upgrade now. But you can find better deals 2nd hand and the 99x0 AMD launch may depress the 2nd hand prices.

Agreed, if someone already has a GTX680, doesn't purchase second hand and is thinking of going SLI these are great deals.

For someone not planning SLI or upgrading from an older Fermi card a GTX770 is only £20 more expensive and IMHO has better future proofing due to the better VRAM.

well my 7850 plays everything well good at the moment, all the latest games on high/ultra,however I feel I will be upgrading sometime in the new year

If I were you, id wait for the new cards to come out and see if they do 7950 / 7970s cheaper.
Like someone above said, BF4 will favour the AMD cards and the 79xx's overclock like mad
