The Wii is incredibly shallow in my opinion. You'll play Wii Sports for about 30 minutes then get bored of it.
You're probably going OTT with your point somewhat suggesting Wii Sports has 30 mins in it, but it has had a solid play as far as my Wii is concerned, both on launch, at parties (especially) and just for fun since. So basically
you didn't enjoy it, right... and a couple of your mates?
The only games with substance are Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy, and that is literally it, the rest are shovelware and party games.
Did you not bother playing Strikers or Excite Truck? And why can't party games have substance? Or do you mean sat on your own playing a game like Oblivion type of substance?
I agree to a point about 'shovelware', but Zelda, Resident Evil 4, Super Paper Mario... Good shovelware though, no? Hell, even The Godfather works well with the controls despite sub-par graphics.
Can't really blame the Wii for being a victim of it's success here, lots of greedy developers.
...and unless Nintendo sorts out the third party support and games library, I won't be bothering with another one.
I mean, time doesn't sort out the games library, does it?
Quick look down the list of 3rd party titles and I'm fairly happy. Medal of Honor, Umbrella Chronicles, Zack and Wiki, Nights, PES... even some of the 'shovelware' like Bully looks good.
Go for 360 or PS3. They both have way better selection.
It's debatable, currently, as to whether the PS3 has a 'way better' selection of games on it. It's undeniable that there's a very healthy catalogue of excellent games on the 360, but it's what you actually want from a console that counts surely?
