To X34(A) Owners, Test your Monitors for Coil Whine Here.

I've bought a replacement X34 to go with my 1080. This one still still has some coil whine on the linked website in the OP, but is better than the first panel I had. It also has considerably less back light bleed and has no other problems, so I'm going to be keeping it. Quite happy with it and don't think it's likely I'll get a better panel back if I send this one in for replacement.

They actually sent me a replacement unit that arrived today in a retail box with the artwork and what not. (I hear that's generally rare.) I'm glad they didn't try to fix it; though that screentunes still screams even on the new monitor (and still maxes out at 95hz.) At least I don't have a bright green stuck pixel in the middle of the monitor and patchy BLB issues. I'm happy ultimately.

Now what to do with the extra stand, power brick, and all the accessories :D I originally just sent the base monitor unit as requested.

Just been on that site and my x34 monitor is making a noise at regular intervals when the bars get larger but goes away when the bars get shorter, if you know what i mean.

Is it something i should be worried about?

I tested it on an old Dell u2412m and noticed severe coil whine.

I have this monitor for 3 years, and I never noticed any coil whine on it "normally", and I'm extremely sensitive to coil whine sounds.

So this isn't the best test, it's extremely exaggerating the reality.

I honestly wouldn't bother even if an expensive monitor whines on this, guys.

Mine whines occasional but then so do some of my family, and I cant send them back for new ones.

Strange as mostly gamers would have headphones on? Wouldn't or shouldn't be able to hear a little whine no and then?

can hear (very slightly) it on the larger bars for about a second or so. not even slightly concerned. never heard it with anything else.

imo, pointless test

edit: on the asus not acer.
