Today I become British

All that law did was change the term, we are still a constitutional monarchy and as such are subjects and not citizens.

If they pass a law tomorrow calling black white, it will not stop it being black

What an utterly predjudice thing to say!! I am, and know many white saffers that judge every person they meet as an individual - perhaps you should do the same.

It's not though is it? Its me commenting on my experiences and the people I've met, I cannot help how the S.A's i've met have acted, what they've said and how they feel.

What do you want me to do? Lie so you feel better?

Congrats!

I'm a dual citizen also, but I didn't have to do any pledge or anything.. my parents are from different nations :o

Congrats! It's a long process but you made it through.

I'm going through it all myself.
I started with a 2 year Working Holiday Visa and then was granted a 2 year leave to remain visa after I got married. This summer I can apply for Indefinite Leave to Remain and then one year later, I'll have been here long enough to get dual citizenship.

Congrats.

You are expected to cheers on England during the forth-coming world cup! South Africa now have to be your 'secondary team'!! It's the rules!

:)

I was under the impression that no one cheers on England if they have a even tiny interest in another dominion? (Scotland, Wales... South Africa, Pakistan, India etc..)
