Today I found out

Take the full amount of Paternity leave that you can get your grubby little hands on. I really regret only taking 2 weeks :(

Save money now, baby stuff is massively overpriced.

Use freecycle to get bits the baby grows out of quickly, then return them to the freecycle.

Masturbation will become a way of life for a good 6 weeks.

Oh and congratulations ;)

Congrats..

It's weird for a bloke at this stage because the woman feels something physical 24/7 for the 9 month of the pregnancy whereas for the bloke, nothing changes so it can be hard to feel part of it all. That will change whe the nipper arrives... Make the most of it though.. They soon become grumpy spotty teenagers :)

Thanks all for the kind words and advice.

I'm so excited! My mum is worse than me though. I told her at 7 in the evening and had to call her back from getting in the car, going to Mothercare and buying the store out.

Grats to you both. It's an awesome moment to find out your gonna be a Dad.

Tip #1 - Mummy needs to feel like the most important person in your life for the next 9 months no matter how unreasonable she gets ;)

Tip #2 - Dude - in 9 months you're gonna be holding your baby in your arms - nothing else comes close. :D

+1 , It will change your life forever .

congrats. endlessly tiring times ahead! be prepared and stock up on pro plus.

our girl has just started teething (3 at once), jesus.. she woke up last night at half three screaming her head off, and didnt stop til half 4 -_-

Giving the newborn full time attention whilst they are awake will knacker you out completely, dont be a stranger to going to bed at 10:30pm on a Saturday... but dont worry youll be up well in time for the Sunday morning repeat of MOTD. :p

Wow, congratulations - I bet you're papping yourself :p You going to try make it into a super baby from being your prodigy?

Well done dude. The only advice I can give is to avoid posting anything you felt you made a mistake over otherwise the holier than thou crowd will lob stuff at you from their high horses.

There is no real advice to give other than make your bird the centre of attention (you do anyway. Right? ;) )

HAving a baby can put strain on even the best relationships and lots of people split up because they don't realise who bad the hormones can get and you end up saying stuff you really shouldn't have. Even if she calls you everything under the sun, don't take it personally, thats just the way women are.:D

Congrats. My first is about 7 months now.

Tips: your wife/GF will go mental for a while, don't worry it's probably not permanent, just help out and keep your head down; go to NCT classes (they are **** but you will be glad of knowing other people in the same boat when the baby comes); get the nursery ready a month before the due date, you will be glad it's out of the way and the baby may come early; relax and enjoy it.
