Today is make a Gameboy Arcade Machine day!

Cheers chaps.

Just gave it a play test. I completed outrun for the 1st time ever using the cab :-)

Lick of paint and some graphics and job done.

Fantastic stuff!

Do you have to be pretty nimble to actually play with those mini controls?

Not really.

Steer with your left hand, the cab is the right height so you can brake/accelerate with your right hand and use your thumb to change gear.

It is easier than using the D Pad :-)

Plastic applied, off to paint.

Bit of a troublesome one, as the steering wheel etc are all fixed in place!

Sir! You have inspired me. I know ZERO about electronics, etc. But today I bought an electronics kit for beginners, a Dremel gas soldering Iron and a crimping tool.

Fun! :p

Maybe I'll get a 3D printer, when I have a spare £1000

^ It's coming on really well!

All in!

Plays well, just needs the batteries added, power switch and back/top on.

Have to wait until I get hold of a GBA rom writer, as I want to have outrun on the cart locked inside.

Ordered one from China, 20 odd days.

Little steering wheel, start button and gear selector (all working)

Ta Da!

Rom writer... hmmm sounds like something I would play with!

Ok paiting is sorta done.

Base colours are black and silver. The detail will be in the decals.

Masked up after the black base coat, ready for silver.

Silver!

For the sides I am using Falbon Blackboard vinyl. It has a nice slightly bumpy surface and mimics the texture on the big cab.

Slicing it to the contour.
