That's an excellent deal 512GB SSD for less than £1 per GB. Well done ocuk. New xplane 10 need 8 dvd's of 4.7GB = 37.6GB plus Windows 7 15GB and rest of stuff 250GB will be around 302.6GB as my HDD nearly full 320GB. Going to begging my parents to get it for me for xmas!

I'll have to move my 64 Gb C300 windows drive over to a Sata II port, and have this thing fully powered by the marvel controller (only does 500 Mbps max, and two drives on it would run too slow).

Tempted by that monitor! Dont think 1.5GB Vram is enough for 1440 though not with all the trimmings anyway.
not with all the trimmings anyway.your 5870 can handle it but don't expect full res and ultra quality gameplay for the latest games. i will be looking to upgrade my 5870 once the next gen comes to market.

Was very tempted by the Hazro but I see they have all gone. My wallet is grateful.
Truth is my current setup is decent enough, which leads me to a question: do you foresee that by, say next year this time, this monitor will be easily available for 350GBP by default, or any similar 27" IPS screens? Prices are dropping on smaller IPS screens so I hope the same will happen for the larger ones.

I think that's a bit conservative, I believe it's 8 dual layer DVDs and that expanded will eat some 80GB of one's SSD

Much better off buying a Z68 and then a 120GB SSD some for true ssd and cache a big drive with the rest
Almost as good and would prob still be less
