Are these still the loud, overheating cards? Really want an R290X now but holding off as everyone said it was noisy and overheating :(
Green Fan Boy Alert....Wah....Wah....Wah !!!!:p:p:p:p:p:p:p:p

although on a more serious note, I agree, a reference cooler design is not what I am after either, will wait for the more efficient / quieter variants to emerge :)

Any chance of a 290x at the 400 mark? As I just missed an offer of another retailer having them at that price. I'd buy two in a heartbeat if possible.

Maybe next year.

seriously ?

Was there any major AMD driver issue in the last 1-2 years? One of the reason why I chose Nvidia is because I use I5 and I thought Nvidia goes better with Intel and better driver.

Since performance wise this is so damn fast and performance/price ratio is much better than 780

Sorry one of thing, the R290 only gets a bit noisy when I play games right? Is it still quite quiet when I am just watching movie?

(Sorry I am NOOB and never use AMD before, thank you MASTER :D)

It really depends on your case cooling and room temperature, if your room is 30c+, its gonna get loud!

Movies etc. it should remain pretty silent, below 40% fan speed with no issues.

Gaming set fan speed at 55% with temperature target of 90c, and all should be well. :)

780 is a quieter card for sure, but 290 cost less.

only £10 off on 'today only'? You've had much better savings than that on othet 'today only' deals.
I've considered returning the 290x and wi going for the pro saving ~£150(will loose the bf4 but i'm not too bothered with bf4).
