just testing the enclosure and i am impressed very easy to install a drive just push a button and slide the hdd in. it performance reasonable well to with crystal disk mark showing 40mb/s read and write (using a 5400rpm Seagate momentus 250gb drive) and for only £1.49 bargain thanks people at ocuk

Glad you are enjoying the productHmmm, maybe it's just me, but the cable that came with mine doesn't seem to be working. Never seen anything like it before.
When I plug the drive in Windows (and I've tried 3 systems) throws an error up that the USB device is not recognised and has malfunctioned and I need to unplug it.
However when using the cable for my camera, or indeed the one for my external DVD it works perfectly.
Can I assume the cable is just faulty?
EDIT - just tried the cable with my external DVD and it doesn't work either, so can only assume the cable is indeed defective - weird!
Can I contact you guys and just arrange to have the cable replaced, or do I need to send the whole unit back? Seems a waste to have to send it all back really. If I had a spare cable I wouldn't bother about it, but unfortunately I don't.
