**TODAY ONLY! 10/07/2014** Crucial MX100 512GB SSD & Devolo dLAN powerline 500 WiFi Starter Kit

DO these internet through power socket things actually work? Got Wifi on my desktop due to the location of my man cave and been looking at these things but no too convinced by them.

Depends a lot on the wiring in your house. If its on the same ring and the wiring is relatively new they work well. I use them in my flat (not the ones in this deal which seem a bit expensive probably because of the wifi part) but only thing i've had to do in 2 years is reset one when I had an IP issue. Otherwise my server is connected via them and never had any issues streaming/downloading etc but then my flat is less than 10 years old so the wiring should be pretty decent.

Gutted! I ordered the mx100 512GB this morning from yourselves but paid full price £159.98

They don't have to be on the same ring, and age of wiring doesn't seem to be a factor.

I`ve had much success with these devices (not a lot of experience with Devolo though). The most important thing to know is that they have to be plugged into sockets using the same consumer unit, and on the same phase (I was recently "caught out" when trying to use them on a house that had a 3 phase supply).

Managed to jump on the "second chance" MX100 offer at ~1645 and amazingly, it has been shipped and is expected tomorrow! :D

Have to say the SSD price isn't unique. If it was the best price around then it would be a bargain. Biding my time for a real bargain price to appear ;)

I've not used those exact models but I've used Powerline adaptors before in my old house and had no problems with them. Easy to setup and the speeds were ok, I was using older 200Mbs kit and was getting about 45Mbs duplex. One thing that did make a big difference was that the adaptors really needed to be plugged directly into the wall socket. Plugging them in multiway extensions really killed the speeds.

You can buy the 512gb for the same price in a lot of places.

I'm contemplating buying one if they drop a bit more for a replacement of my 128gb in my laptop. Do Dell still honour business warranties if the HDD has been changed?

I have downloaded this but it will not install. Keeps saying not enough space to install.
