Wait what? Define better? Certainly not thermally. Compare any review website comparison and in most cases the DD loses to the MSI Gaming by about 2-5 degrees fully loaded.
The XFX also uses more watts than the MSI both idle and fully loaded, then again most enthusiasts don't care much about power consumption.

Also from past experience with the DD cards, the card is almost entirely reference except a few bits, which cause reference waterblocks to not fit properly. I can't say this is the case with the new gen, but that was the issue with the old gen.

It's heartbreaking to see these AMD cards at these prices , all I can say is that never will I go Nvidia again ...not after getting a 780 that performs no better than a 760 but is nearly twice the price .....you live and learn I suppose .

Yeah, you must have had a seriously dodgy 780 seeing as it's usually about on par with a 290.

I would guess it is because the 290x is still a considerable price/performance ratio drop compared to the 290. Even at this price
