SB noob here; is my 16GB XMS3 1600MHz 1.65v RAM (4x4GB) useless for a 2500k setup? Could I squeeze 1600MHz out of it at 1.5v?

I might be tempted by this, but does buying an oem CPU lessen the chances of a good overclock ?

The reason I ask, and I'm not suggesting ocuk would do this, but might a supplier offering pre-overclocked bundles/systems not "cherry pick" oem CPUs for the best ones ?

Was going to order a 2700K till I noticed it is oem and I only buy retail myself.

Keep watching for some deals on a retail....

i got my 2500koem from ocuk in january, and thought it was weird that it was sold in a litttle cardboard box with foam inside! works perfectly tho :)

The clue is in the name - it's OEM - for system builders. If you want the shiny packaging and the stock heatsink and fan the the retail version if for you.

If you're buying a separate cooler then OEM is all you need.
