**Today Only 14/03/2012** Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz & Intel Core i7-2700K 3.50GHz - Lowest Prices

OEM or Retail is no difference to warranty 1 or 3 years cos how often do we sent back CPU to Intel (within 3 years - I doubt none of us do !) Intel CPU is very rare of faulty. Been with Q6600 (8 years) i7 920 D0 (5 years) i7 2600K (1 year) and still no faulty :)

Of course theres a difference... Of approx 2 years!

Rare but it MAY develop a fault and I know for the little extra I'd prefer the extra warranty length

i got my 2500koem from ocuk in january, and thought it was weird that it was sold in a litttle cardboard box with foam inside! works perfectly tho :)

Same.

I'd never bought OEM before and was amazed when I got a little box haha!

Had my OEM at 4.6Ghz at 1.34v for months now :p

I paid £167 for the privilege though!

Edit:
Also people talking of the lower warranty; chances are if your CPU goes wrong it'll be from overclocking, and I doubt anyone'll be overclocking after a year. You'll overclock it when you get it.

And I don't think intel even cover things like that; that's why they brought in the extra $20 overclock warranty.

so this deals on till 12midnight? I just dnt no weather to buy this and a sandybridge motherboard or just wait for ivy bridge, prices for the ivy bridge line will be pricy when it comes out and I'm on a budget so I might just pull the trigger :D

I'd say go for it, Ivybridge will be more expensive at launch and is rumored to give around ~10% more performance with a better built-in GPU. If you go for a gen3 Z68 mobo with the 2500k I doubt you will really notice a huge difference.

Am not happy, was hoping to use my Titan Fenrir cooler for my 2500k but I must have lost the mounting brackets in the last move, looks like I need a new cooler as well :(.

I'd email them, you never know, they may just sort you out with a kit for a nominal fee/free. Worth a go

All gone and back up to full price. That was a great offer!
Now we just need the retail chip on offer for £148.99 today for the lolz ;)

Just received the chip alongside some ram I needed. Less than 24 hours from ordering to receiving it in my hand, great service as always! :D
Now to wait for my new mobo, a shiny Gigabyte Z68XP-UD4 Gen3.

EDIT: received word from the company that makes the Titan Fenrir, they don't have any mounting kits in stock atm so decided to go for a Phanteks PH-TC14PE CPU Cooler, should keep the 2500k very cool!
