Mine tends to go like, "hey would you be mad if I just bought myself a new graphics card?"

"Oh, prepare to get mad, it arrives tomorrow"
you never tell your other half you are upgrading your PC, you buy it, make the excuse you are doing a "spring clean" and install the new card. None the wiser.
good thing about buying a GPU when its on the inside of the case!

Absolutely! The only time you need to tell the other half anything has changed is when you have to change the case, keyboard, mouse or screen. I managed to change from a DDR2 C2Q to a Sandy Bridge without the wife knowing by simply saying Windows was having an issue and I would need to reinstall and I may as well move a couple of things round inside the case while I'm at it.
The wife is pretty hot at noticing screen changes though, especially when the third one came in and I had to buy a bigger desk and move the whole rig into a different room!

Exactly, also if you don't tell her women tend to get "feelings" and know you're hiding something which leads to them thinking which is always a bad thing
If you straight up tell them then they know you're a B****** and bitch to their friends about it but thats it. When you don't then it goes around over and over again in their twisted little minds getting ever more perverted and out of line with reality until they decide to dump you because they can't trust you or some BS.
