Indeed

Had my system 2.5 years and thought about selling whilst the motherboard and CPU has some warranty left, or might use it for a spare pc.

Kingston HyperX = awesome
Ridiculous price, same as when I paid 40 for it is was a ridiculously low price
Just makes me cringe when I remember buying 4gb of OCZ gold for 100 quid, and 4gb of Ripjaws C7 for 90 quid![]()
The Bulldozer deal is actaully pretty good! I just saw this advert on the OCUK page £163 less £20 cash back = £143 for an AMD Bulldozer FX8120! Now come on I know were all disappointed by Bulldozer put at that price it puts it at less money then a 2500K which is it's nearest competitor in terms of performance.
KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) [KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX 1 is the 1.5v version and other is 1.65 version isnt it?, so is it luck of the draw which 1 you get ?![]()
That's a bloody good price for the ram. I don't know about the CPU though, if you can't shift 25 units at £163 then you best let AMD know that there not cheap enough even at that price.
There's no difference in those 2 product numbers.
Kingston do not produce a "1.5V" version of the 1600MHz Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey.
The RAM is tested by Kingston at 1.65V but, as many forum users will tell you, it will usually run 1600MHz at ~1.5V.
I say "usually" because I've not seen anyone with a problem but you never know.
really i was going by what i read on this http://www.legionhardware.com/articles_pages/dual_channel_ddr3_1600_8gb_shootout,4.html
Like the Ballistix Sport and RipjawsX memory the HyperX Genesis Grey series is available in both 1.65v and 1.5v models. However where as the Crucial and G.Skill low-voltage kits are relatively inexpensive, Kingston is after $116 for their 1.5v version and just $68 for the 1.65v model.
I was going to buy the ram to update my machine to 16Gb but was disappointed as you limited the offer to 1 kit only.
To bad for you, I got the same ram elsewhere for £62.18 delivered for 16Gb.
Happened to me last time as well, a mate has since taken them from me so just ordered another single kit.
These one per customer larks are a pain especially when they have hundreds
