Transform your gaming experience with the GeForce GTX670 Power Edition graphics card from MSI. Featuring the award-winning Twin Frozr thermal solution, innovative Military Class III component design, enhanced PWM configuration, and MSI's proprietary Afterburner overclocking suite, own the best graphics hardware with the GeForce GTX670 Power Edition from MSI.

The GTX670 Power Edition features the industry-leading Twin Frozr IV thermal design. With 8mm SuperPipes soldered to an all-copper, nickle-plated base, twin 80mm Propeller Blade fans, and a high density heat fin stack, the GTX670 Power Edition is up to 16C cooler than a competing design.

It also features Dust Removal Technology, which spins the fans in full reverse for 30 seconds at system start to minimize dust buildup and ensure optimal thermal performance. The GTX670 Power Edition also features a full-length heatsink that cover the front of the PCB, cooling and protecting critical components on the graphics card while preventing PCB flex.

The GTX670 Power Edition features a robust 6+1 phase PWM design that delivers 25% more current to the GPU versus the reference design for maximum performance and stability. This enhanced allows for better GPU Boost performance under load, and provides maximum power delivery and stability for gaming and overclocking.

MSI's Military Class III components meet a more stringent testing standard than industry-wide electronic components.

Utilizing the US DoD MIL-STD-810G testing protocol, Military Class III components are rated to run under the most strenuous conditions to meet the highest levels of performance.

These components include: Hi-C CAP -- Low profile tantalum core capacitors, more than 10 times the lifespan of traditional capacitors with 15 times less power leakage Solid State Choke (SSC) -- Pure iron core choke with high working current, designed for overclocking All-Solid CAP -- Nickle-plated cover for longer endurance, up to 10 years lifespan under full electrical loads

Is the GTX680 PE a re-badged lightning with lower clocks or something? it doesn't show on EK's cooling configurator.

Pretty much, I'd imagine they're made up from cores that didn't cut msi's requirement to be badged lightning.

They do come on the lightning pcb, even have lightning logo's etc...so 680 lightning blocks will fit, iirc your choices are either ek or aquacomputer for those :)

there is a £10 difference between that 670 and HIS HD 7950, which is the better card? Not really bothered about the games that come up with it since i was unable to sell my previous codes and never played any of them.

Out of the box, the 670 is factory overclocked while the HIS 7950 isn't, so the 670 is faster. Both overclocked will have the 7950 ahead, plus it has higher memory capacity and bandwidth.

So the 7950 is more future proof then?

Is the 680 that much faster over the 670? I'm about to pull the trigger on the 680!!!

And are the FREE Batman & Splintercell PC Games included in the box or codes for download?

From what I have read on it, the 680PE is basically a 680 lightning that didn't quite have the overclocking potential a lightning should have, so it has a black sticker over the lightning logo on the back and lower clocked BIOS, however its a dual BIOS card and it can be flashed with the proper 680 lightning BIOS to give the same performance as a lightning (though obviously it will not have the same manual overclocking potential).

Is there any advantage to flashing the bios with the Lightning one, other than to save a bit of manual OC'ing to hit the same core / boost clocks i.e. does it open up any additional options / features?

It shouldn't, but the lightning ln2 bios may give a higher power target and I think disables ocp.

@Uber, get it on water and use rbby's tool to get the volts up, 1300mhz+ should be easy ;)

I was planning on just blocking it then flashing the LN2 lightning BIOS and leaving it at that as MSI obviously didn't have enough faith in the cards overclocking ability to sell it as a lightning. I'm hoping this card will last me a long time so wouldn't really want to overclock/volt the nuts off it when I only really play WoW most of the time anyway and it should be able to handle that fine at stock anyway as my recently deceased GTX670 was getting good FPS.
