** Today Only 26/11/2011 - 28/11/2011 ** - Intel i7 980 and MSI GTX 560Ti 2048MB

well if you have a 6950, you can flash it to a 6970 which is better than a 560ti. I know that much.

But supposing you dont flash it, i would assume it is still better, but not by as much.

I only paid £427 on the last weeks offer, only slightly annoyed :(

I'll be very annoyed if it drops to £350 by the end of the year, it wasnt looking like it would.

It's getting cheaper:

Well, I'll simply carry on using my RIIIE, plus one of these lovelies that I picked up on the previous this week only for £428:

Give it a few weeks and you'll have convinced yourself you only paid £350 ;)

On Friday I bought OcUK GeForce GTX 560Ti 2048MB (the Palit one) for £195 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-175-OK

Is the MSI GeForce GTX 560Ti OC Twin FrozR II 2048MB a significantly better card? Factory overclocked and known for providing good artefact-free performance?

The one I bought was normally £215 knocked down to £195, while this is £254.99 knocked down to £195. I haven't even had the card I bought delivered yet.

Now I see on Overclockers support page that there I've got 7 days under long distance selling regulations to return it after delivery, should I buy the MSI card and return the card I already bought? Should I perhaps not accept delivery on the card that I bought, I assume that way it gets returned to the sender for free?

I'd ask Overclockers these questions directly but it's a Sunday and as far as I can tell their customer service is only open business hours.

Yeah I had a look at the terms and conditions and they do actually mention refusing delivery as part of ending contract under long distance selling regulations. So yeah I've now bought the MSI card and I've sent them a Webnote on the website's "contact us" page to let them know.

I sent a webnote asking if I could get the difference on the 980 refunded as I only ordered mine 4 days ago on a this week only offer.

Also that 2 Gb MSI 560ti is a super nice card, and it now costs what I paid for the 1 Gbs on release.

They did it for me ages ago as well. I bought some Geil DDR1 ram sticks for my S939 system, the next day they were on this week only for a tenner less, I sent in a webnote and got the difference refunded :)

But I suppose it depends on how nice the person that reads the webnote is.

and if their manager is looking over their shoulder :D

Well that's something new to me. The ones I've bought stuff with wouldn't allow that so there's a pro for OcUK on my list.

Awfully tempted by the Msi card, but peeps keep saying a refresh is due to be announced on Tues next week - so do i wait and see if the 448 version comes out. decisions, decisions ??????

Help

Yeah, difficult decision, probably best to wait.

The 448 version is actually a GTX 570 cut down a bit, and it will only have 1280 Mb ram and be priced at £215.

This MSI TF2 card based on the G114 core is a beast, most of them easily clock to 1 Ghz on the GPU which will easily match / beat the inefficient G110 based 448 shader version.

Your not making this any easier lol. Still don't know what to do. you make some good points - I assume you are correct in your statement?????
