has these ssd's had an update to the firmware ? , one of the reviews state poor random read performance . has this been fixed ?

I believe firmware updates have been released but on what they fix or improve I do not know, maybe someone else can answer.

But the price reflects the performance of these drives, they are half the price of the other 60GB models we sell and hence a bargain. :)

If I where to get one of the patriot ssd drives for the vista based machine I am giving my brother how could TRIM be managed?

So my question would be is it worth buying 2 of these set to RAID 0 and have a 128GB HDD that I can install my 'most played' games. OR leave it at a Corsair Force 40GB F40 and just install OS Windows 7 64bit and install everything else on data drive...

Of course there is the option to go with a Western Digital VelociRaptor 300GB and RIAD 0 it later down the line.

I just cant work out if it's too early for SSDs yet for performance VS price?!

Also, what happens when you turn the mains off, is there a chance of loosing the data? (I turn all wall sockets off when not using them as a rule in the house)

Was just about to snap up the psu then realised that the cheapest delivery OCUK offer is £9.50.

I like OCUK as their prices include free delivery for myself as I use the forum. However having just short of £10 as the very cheapest delivery has somewhat put me off.

I am not asking for the free delivery on this item, but if this item must be excluded from free postage then please offer some cheaper postage options. Other competitors have the same psu with free delivery for a few quid more than OCUK's price including p&p. Yes this free delivery is within 5 working days but still the very cheapest I can get it from OCUK is almost a tenner more, completely overuling the otherwise fantastic price.

I want an SSD too, but if I buy this together with the PSU then it still isn't free delivery:(

Could OCUK comment at all on my post please:).

Yes. Can't be the cheapest on everything all the time. If we did we'd sell lots and make nothing, lose money or worse go bust.

There are a lot of companies out there today not making any money at all and you may not see some of them around for much longer.

We intend to stick around for a great deal of time yet :)
