Toilet Unblocking!

Evening all!

Not sure what's happened but the toilet is not quite blocked but very slow moving and it's obviously a partial blockage (which is going to become a full blockage soon!).

Rather than pay the £eek that a plumber or drain specialist will cost is there any product or method that unblocks the toilet that anyone could recommend (and also where to get it from)?

The 'model' of toilet I guess should be taken into account - the only thing I can find on google is something called a dual-flush cistern (see how up to date I am on toilets!) it basically has two silver seperate buttons in a circle. Once flushed on a normal day it would just 'suck' the deposit down now it's actually almost overflowing when pushed.

Any help/advice gratefully received!

P.S. Please no grenades, etc. sensible ideas only (and toilets don't have overies so I can't kick it in the overies)!

Coat hanger. (Metal obviously). You can get unblocking products, which are basically really strong acids/alkali (Whichever). Try wilkinsons.

The problem is the blockage could be anywhere, maybe even outside somewhere, you might be able to use that Mr Muscle Sink unblocker which apperently should work the same way t does in a sink, or as above a plunger.

I'dlift the manhole cover outside first to see if the blockage is down there.
Plunger is always good.
Once cleared, don't drop such "Richard the Thirds" down there and all should be hunky dory;)

It's been 50 minutes since he posted, shoudl we call the Fire Brigade and tell them his arm is stuck rounf the bend? Surely a serious OcUK'er would have finished the job by now and have pictures (with bread) to prove it..?

You need to stick you arm down with your hand open and start making grabbing motions with your hand as you reach in further ;)

I caused major blockage in old school toilet couple of weeks ago. Left it a while and it gradually disappeared. I think the u-bend isn't man-sized.

To clarify: that isn't a school toilet, that's just stating that it's not one of these posh flushers.
