Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege Revealed

Only downloaded the beta on Saturday, but what little I played (3/4 hours) I enjoyed.

  • Felt like XP progression was 'right' with the renown boaster active. Otherwise too slow.
  • Terrorist Hunt on Lone Wolf even at Normal was stupidly difficult. Probably becuase of the infinite enemy re-spawns. I've seen footage of earlier closed beta footage on Youtube that had a definite enemy limit which is what you need for this mode to work as a single player mode.
Could envisage buying it, but possible not at full retail plus DLC.

The closed beta had a set amount of enemies on terrorist hunt, open beta it was unlimited. Wrong way to go imo.

I thought the beta ended? tried to play it this afternoon but it was showing expired in uplay.

Still shows as valid in my UPlay, wouldn't mind another while with it.

Same here really, lots of fun but not £50 plus DLC fun. The DLC only runs for another £15 if you buy the Gold version which is good for what's effectively a season pass, but £50 for the base game is way too much.

Lol that explains why it was such a sod earlier. Thought the terrorists would run out but they didn't :(.

If I can find a good price I'll buy it. Bit wary of matchmaking at the moment seems to be rather buggy and I'm not convinced it will be fixed by release.

I would hope you have the option to set this up to your liking in the full release, but I guess we'll see soon. With infinite enemy re-spawns it isn't a mode worth playing as a single player.

Every new release in the last couple of months you've said runs bad on your system.

I'd be looking at your system right now.

"Every new" like which? So far: Fallout 4 and Siege.

Fallout 4: Common for most people who are used t oplaying games at >60fps and have an FPS counter. And its not as big of a deal at inferior 1080p.

Siege: Not too uncommon, read various forums and reddit.

City areas is a problem for everyone, not just me.
Go watch Gopher's videos on youtube, he showcases a mod that proves my point.

I'm not everyone, it's fine for me; but it's probably people whacking settings up to work in the open area/starter areas but when they hit the city obviously it needs more.
To be fair, what they've done with the city and performance in my opinion with how dense it is; is quite amazing.

Also proving your point with a mod that lowers shadow distance only shows that you had shadow distance too high. Maybe quality too.

This game also runs fine for me @ 1440p, you probably have something turned on you shouldn't, possibly?
What are your system specs?

True about sounds being over exaggerated, find it hard to pinpoint footsteps from my own teams footsteps. Using a Roccat Kave 5.1 headset too.

I got it for free with my GFX card so not to bad.

As for the matchmaking being bad, I guess people didn't read the disclaimer at the start when loading the game saying they were testing infrastructure etc

uninstalled this, I ahve no idea if my experience was general but the suicide bombers annoyed the hell out of me (wrong vibe for an R6 game I thought) and my lag was awful! Will give it another go when it drops to silly numbers.
