And cupboard, used to be a fridge guy but then I realised I'd left ketchup in the cupboard for months and nothing had grown on it.

My rule of thumb is to do what the supermarkets do. Of course if it says "Refrigerate once opened" I will fridge it.

Vinegar/sugar/salt are the best preservatives, you really think keeping it chilled is going to make it last longer or taste better

In the UK, cupboard. In the UAE, nothing lasts more than 2 days outside the fridge.

I was disgusted when I found out my girlfriend stored hers in the fridge, as you can imagine it was almost enough to get rid of her when I found out and was forced to put cold sauce onto hot chips.

Its stored in vending machines at cinemas and what not in the open, ive been eating it 38 years not in the fridge and its done me no harm, you can tell by looking at the sauce if its alright or not.

Mayo in the fridge but tom sauce i doubt needs to be in, its always in my room i have 3 almost empty bottles laying about lol.

If it was in fridge it would make your sarnys taste cold due to the temp of the sauce imo. Should be room temp.

Also i have a bottle in the cupboard that i just bought.

Now a proper poll would have been whats the best one, i have a Heinz and a branston and i prefer branston as its thicker as the Heinz is a bit thinned out imo.

I always ignore what it says on the bottle.

I prefer keeping soy sauce at a perfect 37 degrees celcius.
