Anyone else playing this?

I picked it up on Friday night and have so far finished Peru levels.

I'm enjoying it as I've always liked the Tomb Raider games, however this is a bit of a dodgy conversion. From what I've read they didn't really make the game HD, so its upscaling from SD.

On the loading splash screens, I seem to get these random red lines that I can see towards the edge of the screen.

On the Lost Valley level near the temple there is a really obvious texture bug that I can't believe a tester didn't notice!

There seem to be a number of bugs with controlling Lara where they just didn't seem to test enough... like you will fall of a ledge even though you are walking, or be unable to make a jump that you are supposed to etc...

It just doesn't feel as solid or as pretty as Legend is. I am enjoying it, but it just feels like the conversion team didn't really give it there all.

I got it on Thursday or Friday (can't remember which day it arrived through the post) but haven't had the chance to play it yet. I was hoping to get back to playing Tomb Raider Legend and finish that before moving on to this.

From some reviews I've seen, Legend is the technically better game of the two.

Gotta say its an appauling port, the graphics reek of PS2 and the fps is all over the shop.

Real shame, i was looking forward to it.

I've been waiting for some info on this as I loved TRL. Sad that it doesn't sound that great. I will rent it and try it. Not many people seemed to have bothered with it.

Yeah, forgot that... the framerate suffers slow down. I think you hit the nail on the head, it really has too much PS2 too it... where as Legend was streets ahead of the PS2 version.

Its still good though.... just not perfect.

I've got the PC and PS2 version as well. I'd say it isn't really as good as either. From what i have been reading it is based on the PC version, but it doesn't really show :( Still it was quite cheap. All that being said, the game itself is fantasic and if you haven't played it on another format its well worth a play. On balance its a better game than Legend as its the original remade.

None of the versions are anything near as pretty as Legend, but it was never meant to be although using the same engine.

Sorry if this is a stupid question, but is this the 1st Tomb Raider from 1996? with the T-Rex, Gorilla's et al? might just pick it up if it is.

I will 100% be doing this when im back, TRL has been one of the best 360 games so far imo

I got Legend for a tenner, which was more than worth it. I want to pick up Anniversary, but its hard to justify the increased cost of the 360 version and I have the receiver so I can play with my 360 wireless controller on the PC. Achievements seem attainable I suppose, which may sway it the other way.

I should really start renting games.
