Got it on pre-order for the Xbox 360 but to be honest I'm not sure how much I'll play it. (Getting it for the better half since she loves the TR series)

The motorcycle levels look alright though.

I'm looking forward to it. :)
Used to love the Tomb Raider series till it lost its way a bit.

I had it order for quite a while for the XBox, then changed my order across to the 360 version when it was announced. Really looking forward to it. If it recaptures any of the magic from the first game its going to be great.

Yeah im looking forward to this one to, does seem to have gone back to its roots which is good, as the first couple were cracking games, then they went down hill after that. :)

All the others since TR2 have been gradually worse... since she stopped raiding tombs I would say ( ;) ) though I did enjoy TR4 (The Last Revelation). I will definitely be getting this, however, I wouldn't touch it on any other format except for the Xbox360.

If it's anything like TR1 or TR2 I will be one VERY happy boy!

Yep cannot wait for the PC version on 11/04/06. Looks like the best one of all and should use full HDR effects in SM3.0 plus zero loading times.

TRAOD had killer gfx for 3 years ago and still brings new high gfx cards to their knees in places with all the DX9 effects enabled but the gameplay was dire + buggy and not enough tombs to raid!

Hopefully Legend will return to the classics like TR1+2. TR2 to me still has some of the greatest levels ever designed for any computer game. The undersea shipwreck levels of the Dora Bryan or whatever it was called were amazing.

Getting Toby Gard onboard was a good decision by crystal dynamics as he was responsible for a lot of the game design on TR1.

I'd think that the 360 version should share all the graphical goodness of the PC version. I must be one of the few people in existance that thought TRAOD was actually OK. I didnt get anywhere near finishing it, but once i got used to the controls i didnt mind it too much.

Lookng forward to this one as well - as long as it really does go back to what made it good in the first place.

Perhaps but the PC version supports @ least 1920x1200 + AA + AF + HDR + low loading times. Correct me if I'm wrong but no current console offers the same eye candy as a high end PC.

Historically the PC version of TR has always been the best by far as that is always the main target platform.

From some comments on the official TR Legend forums by the developers it would appear that the PC version is the best looking followed by the 360.

PC version needs 5GB HD space min so presume the 360 is gonna have to load most of that data @ some time.

i was thinking of picking this up on the psp (really need a 2nd game apart from tales of Eternia) but if thats true i might pick it up on the PC :D

ive had this on pre-order since november :) really looking forward to it.I read on a tomb raider site that you could need anything up to 8.5GB of hard drive space

I was watching a few of the preview videos for this the other day and whilst I agree it does look rather splendid and worthy of a purchase I can't help but feel the Prince of Persia games have somewhat stolen the thunder from this....

All the climbing/jumping/acrobatics look extremely similar but (imo) have worse animation.

I suppose it all depends on how the controls work out as that may make or break the game for me.

Time will tell :)

The 360 is pretty much on par with a top of the line gaming PC, so theoretically it should be able to top what an average gaming pc can do. Where it wont match the PC is on resolution and loading times as you say(although theoretically i suppose you could play it at 1080i on the 360 if you had a TV or monitor that supported it). Most people will play it at 1280 x 720 on the 360 and possibly 1280 x 1024 on the PC (if PC is good enough) so its not a huge difference. The 360 should run at full detail at 720p while some people may have to turn down detail to run at 1280 x 1024 on an average gaming PC. Crystal Dynamics other series, the Soulreaver games happily streamed data off CD without having to load area's. The extra memory available to some PC's over that available to the 360 may mean that at the highest settings on the PC, higher res textures may be able to be used than could be fitted into the 360's memory. I dont know if that is the case or not, and certainly lowering texture quality a little would aid in streaming data directly from the DVD.

Personally i'd always thought that the Playstation/PS2 version of the Tomb Raider games was the target version and that especially in the early days the PC versions came along later. In fact AOD is really the only one i can think of where they concentrated a bit more on the PC version of the game rather than effectively making just a port.

I would just have thought that apart from the possibility of using a higher resolution on PC that all the visual effects should be pretty much intact on the 360, AA should be practically free on the 360(although in practice we know thats not been quite true as of yet).

As the 360 version is being release a few weeks later than the PC i may just buy it on PC as well. My PC's not bad so i should be able to see which version i prefer. Im doing that already with Oblivion.

**Wanders off to have a read of the TR Legends forum to see whats being said about the versions**

**edit** Just bought the PC version as well as i found it for £17.99, £29.99 for the 360 version so both together are still probably cheaper than i'd pay for just the 360 version on the highstreet. If i prefer the PC version i'll just trade the 360 version in, if i prefer the 360 version i'll just pass the PC game onto a friend :)
