tomb raider legends 360 demo

ya this game is ok

but on the pc has better graphics. it has that next gen feature unlike the xbox 360

so just buy the pc version but your gonna need a £300 card to make the next gen feature playable. it really does need that much power and really does look a lot better!

Is it just my 360, or does the demo run appaulingly badly on anybody else's xbox?

Depends completely on your definition of "appauling". Yes, there is slow down. Yes, it can be very noticable. However as a whole, the game plays brilliantly smooth, with just a couple of areas (which never happened at any action points) that seemed to be just a bit too much for the 360.

And it's really not worth the price.

Well from the demo I was put off by the framerate to be honest, brother saw it and thought something was wrong with the Xbox, but every other game runs perfectly. I may rent it and try it out properly.

um, the 360 has next gen turned on as standard so it doesn't need the option! £300 graphics card my arse.

well i dont get his term 'next gen option', is that a real option!?!? lol i had a quick play of the PC demo on a 7800 GT OC with a a64x2 and the only percievable improvment in visuals was that i could apply a little more AA which smoothed some parts out. I thought it was great on 360, nice blend of PoP platforming too with old style tomb raider stuff and good combat.

Bosses were fun too.

and @ Seek: Dude games that are attemptedly non-linear are very difficult to do well, often they leave players confused or lost, also the story can be hard to explain properly without waypoints that are linked up.

At the end of the day a story goes from start to finish because we do not have the technology for creating stories as we go. Therefore EVERYTHING is linear, i mean even life is pretty linear, born-school-job-old-die. 99% of ppl follow that track. Your use of the term 'linear' is totally misplaced.

If what you mean is that the game follows a relatively tight plot and that all you do is work through it, then yes that is true there is not much room to stray from the story the devs want you to follow. If this is a bad thing then so are books, you dont read page 2 then suddenly skip to page 92 do you? So do you hate books? Well you know who also hates books? NAZI's thats who, thats all i gotta say

;)

IGN said that there was a tiny amount of slowdown in 720i and a lot in 1080p. I encountered almost none in SD.

Its possibly my favourite of the 360 games apart from the multiplayer ones like PGR and Graw. I found it very absorbing just doing a level or two each day to get the full 100% game complete.

I agree, it was a real return to glory for the series. I was hooked.

I would really recommend it, the first level is actually the worst in the game.

i don't hate books! books are an entirely different media. they're are not mean't to be interactive (with the exception of those crap "fighting fantasy" type things).

A movie also isn't supposed to be interactive.

A video game on the other hand is. and with tomb raider lengend i got the distinct impression i was being lead by the hand through the game. it's a very dumbed-down game to appeal to the masses.

don't get me wrong, i'm not saying it isn't fun to watch the countless cut scenes, but just don't expect much more than a bunch of pretty cut scenes tenuously strung together by a handful small linear levels.

anyone who hasnt played this yet, i urge you to rent it or pick it up on the cheap, its the best tomb raider to date, its an enjoyable single player game, and the GFX and presentation impressed me
