Tomb Raider - Rise of the Raider PC

Enjoying this, made it to the Train Yard camp in the Soviet Installation, was great setting them Trinity blokes on fire with the lanterns, the way they burst into flames, and run about screaming waving their arms about :D

Been playing this for the last week, almost finished. I reached the last camp, but decided to revisit the old areas to complete them 100%. Going well so far but some of the things that I missed are damn annoying to find!

Almost maxed out my weapons and skills!

Totally awesome game.

Yeah i'll be having to revisit old areas too, to get into some places i can't access yet, with not having the right stuff etc....

Been trying to get over there, for the past couple of days, just no joy, so looked up a vid on Youtube, to see how its done, and thats when i discovered its buggered, as that wall straight ahead, is supposed to have that wooden stuff on, that you can fire those climbing arrows into, then when i get on them on there, i fire another one into that wooded part to the right, to jump across to, but as you can see, its not showing the stuff up, so i can't do it, i wondered why, when i was using the instinct from certain angles, that wall would be highlighting Yellow, with nothing seeming to be there, absolutely gutted, so, so close to the end :(, unless i have to do something else before that part, as my objective is up those stairs, on the opposite side (behind me).

EDIT: Might be scripted that part, after a do something else, god i hope so, can't **** on me now, not when im so, so close! :D

Ha, I spent literally an hour trying to get up there thinking it was another secret area. I got to about 90% completion but by then I'd really had enough. There some things that weren't marked on the map and I wasn't going to spend ages trawling around for a piece of cloth or something.

Yeah, i was only trying to get up there, for the relic that was up on a roof, was the only way i could see to get to it :D

Ive 100% every location, so just have to finish it off now, just glad it wasn't buggered, as be gutting that, right near the end, id have literally cried :p

So, what's the deal with this game and freezing to the point a hard reset is required or the display driver has stopped working?

I can play Battlefield 1 and other games absolutely sound, 3D Mark benchmarks at 4K Ultra absolutely fine as well.

So what exactly is the problem with this game?

None whatsoever its ultra stable must be your PC. Try DX11 instead of DX12.

Already have, and it can't be my system if all other games i play are fine and intensive stress and benchmark tests don't show any issues.

If i google the issue, other gamers experience it as well and i see many possible fixes mentioned, such as playing offline via Steam (which sounds bizarre) but so far i've tried switching between the two DirectX modes, but to no success.

Here are my benchmark results running DX12 vs DX11. I'm running a 8700k @ 4.4Ghz (no need for higher, I prefer cooler and more silent running), EVGA 1080 ti SC2 and 16GB ram. All settings are max except I'm running SMAA x2 and not x4.

I get better performance in DX12...

Rise needs lots of Ram & VRam especially if playing at 4K with highest res textures. I can play for up to 8 hours at a time never ever had a single crash in almost 200 hours gameplay time! For 4K on PC you really need 16GB Ram + 8Gb Vram unless you turn the gfx settings down. Also disable all AA its not really needed either.
