Tomorrowland 2022 is LIVE!

Tomorrowland the clubbing version of "Now that's what I call music" pure cheesefest, the people who go, you could literally play the sound of dogs taking a dump and they'd dance to it
That's what it feels like to me as well, I'm really into my dance music but none of these Tomorrowland sets appeal to me whatsoever, I guess the atmosphere and lighting fx kinda give it an overall good experience.

Music wise though, nah not my cup of tea.

A lot of the modern takes on the genre(s), though there are some gems here and there, have nothing on the mid to late 90s IMO.

(Slightly connected to flea.rider's post above this thread has got me listening to Sin City (Three ‘N One Extended Re-Edit) heh).

No music is everyone's cup of tea, I used to listen solely to Punk, Rock and Metal growing up. But now I also listen to Hardstyle, Hardcore and various other 'Trance' genres.

I can't stand dNb for instance, but i don't take pops are others who like it, it's their choice :)

For the record to the pill popper thoughts, not taken a single drug at the parties I've been to, other than beer.

Tomorrowland is everything rave culture originally set out to not be, a soulless corporate cheese fest for people whose taste in electronic music doesn’t extend beyond whatever tosh you hear on daytime radio. Its the Disneyland of music festivals.

If I was 16, had never heard any electronic music outside of the mainstream, liked really generic poppy EDM and had downed 10 beans it might be vaguely tolerable I guess.

I am bordering on the middle-aged man demographic so its clearly not meant for me, that said id have hated it in my 20s as well. Still go to festivals though, should have gone to Junction 2 this summer but it got canceled AGAIN :(

I've been listening to Freedom Stage mostly but damn, Mainstage hot right now Martin Garrix.

As Tomorrowland was finished, my eye drifted to another event apparently live. Parookaville, another I'd never heard off and managed to catch the last hour. The guy on was called Timmy Trumpet, now that was fun to watch!

Didn't realise this was running for 3 weekends on the trot!

Looking at the lineups, only the last weekend is really up my street.

Friday = Future Sound Of Egypt
Saturday = PsyGathering & Anjunabeats
Sunday = Monstercat & Smash The House (though I'd probably skip this day entirely)

No acts from ANY mainstage lineups from all 3 weekends appeal, Tiesto and Armin being the closest, but they both suck now tbh.

forgive me if we already have a 2023 thread, but didn't see anything in search.

anyone watch this over the weekend? Some of the sets were outstanding!
