hi guys

I have a tomtom start 60 and just trying to install some additional software on a micro sd card. Once I pop the card in to the tomtom it says it needs formatting, to which then continues to do so. Once ejected and in my pc, when I try adding files it says the memory is FULL! but no files what so ever are on it. when I format the card via my PC I can add files on to it but then when I put the card in to my tomtom it comes up saying the card needs formatting even though it just has!

Any ideas? :(

TIA

Why can't things be simple anymore! Many thanks for that link Windle. I'll have a play about using the tomtom additional software that's mentioned in the link and see if can progress :(

Useless tbh! the Add community content sidebar on MyDrive doesn't let you add additional maps, only POI etc. All I wanted to do was add my european map on to the TomTom, don't understand why it has to be so hard :(

The more recent generation tomtoms force you to use their my drive software, presumably because they realised devices with the directory structure exposed are easy to crack and add content without paying, a bit like most mobile phones.

Ironic because most smart phones these days have accurate GPS and support offline maps.

Ditch the dog that is tomtom/garmin and use your phone. Their devices are An Amstrad quality of backwards design and feature lacking.

Very very tempted ^ I kind of thought that would be the case :( I nearly sold it as it was a pain to use even in the UK, routing me off course and never acquiring GPS signal. Just thought it would have been handy for an upcoming destination where I could not use cellular on my phone. I might look in to seeing if there's a nav app for the iPhone that you can use offline?
