I think this is the best forum for this. A colleague at work has asked me to take a look at their tomtom device, as it just shows a flashing red cross on the screen.

I use tomtom software on my phone but I have never used an actual tomtom device before. Searching on google it appears to be tomtom one v4.

I have connected it to my PC and it shows up fine. I installed tomtom home on my comp, and did a few updates which were needed but it still has the flashing red cross on the tomtom screen once I disconnect from my PC.

Anyone had this issue with tomtom and does anyone know how to fix it?

Sounds like a knackered battery if it works when plugged in. They can be bought form the bay for a few quid and really easy to replace.

I've been searching on google and seems more like a software issue really. Does anyone have a tomtom one v4 that is fully working? I need the system files I think...
