TomTom V2 - £57? Alternatives?

Yes the software is very easy to use. However the version on that one is more uptodate than mine. I updated mine in the summer, as i purchased the european maps, i have yet to update this version as it is working so well, and is accurate for when i have used it.

The speedlimit doesnt work on all roads in my area yet, but does on the main roads.

got a virtually brand new TT One classic V3 for sale in the MM. Cant reccomend them enough tbh. I now use TT7 on my PDA hence the sale of this.

I ordered a tomtom from that website i think your talking about (tomtom v2 for £57) etc.

It came this morning and i'm really really pleased with it.

I got the "tomtom 520 go" for £103 delivered (found a code for free delivery while google searching).

Installed it today with the firmwire first to what they call "NavCore v8" aswell as taking advantage of the "free latest UK map within 30 days of purchase" to version something or another.

The v8 firmwire gives you all the latest things that you'd get on the more expensive tomtom 530/730 series like lane guidance / IQ routes etc as long as you have the latest maps also (all done through tomtom home software very easily, not pirated etc).

Also because its the 520 rather than say..the tom tom xl it runs at 400mhz instead of 266mhz so the whole maps look way smoother as they're moving (i first noticed this on an pda i had years ago with tomtom installed).

All this for £103 delivered, fantastic imo. A word of warning though, while i was finding out info about the firmwire changes etc it seems that things can go pearshaped sometimes and its strongly recommended you have a backup of everything on the tomtom first which is easily done in the tomtom home software as soon as you hook it up to a computer for the first time.
