Tonight's Takeaway/Supper

I love pizza, as my posts in La Cuisine attest to.

However, I realise it's the biggest rip off of all take aways. I mean, a medium pizza from Domino's is £15! A bit of bread, cheese, tomato puree and a sparse covering of cheap meats.

Compare that to my indian where I get a freshly cooked curry with about 10 large pieces of nice chicken in for £4, or a shish where I get 2 skewers of beautiful chargrilled lamb, fresh salad and grilled pitta for £7, it starts to look a mahoosive rip off!

Well I just attempted to eat a veggie Miso soup a friend left in the fridge, even though it went off 4 days ago. It did not go down too well. Think I'll have to raid the cupboard again!

Washing it down with a few LSV energy drinks.

This the last takeaway I'm having for a while. Need to get fit.

Yes, let's! Why do you put meat (it's spelled 'doner' by the way) in inverted commas? It might not be the best out there, but it's definitely meat. Meat that goes down a treat after a couple or three pints.

I do apologise for my spelling. Useless on touch phones. While I agree a proper turkish doner kebab is not so bad, lamb and spices. Of course this has a very high level of trans fats ect but ignore that.

While talking to a friends boyfriend about the meat he orders for his shop ( kebab house type place ) most of the doner meat we get sold in these places is certainly not that. And often has around 10% lamb meat in.

Which I should also add I'm not trying to say no one should eat it ect. If you like it you like it. I used to have the odd doner years back.

It's only allowed to be called Doner kebab if it is all lamb. If it is any other meat then it is just kebab meat. Trading standards case.

Oops, this thread has just reminded me I forgot to have dinner. Had a really good lunch 10 hours ago and then just got distracted. Now my body has decided it's pretty hungry...

doner meat is amazing, yes I know how bad it is and how 'meaty' it is but nonetheless I am a fan.

The american mess in Kandahar serves it but calls it 'lamb gyros', used to love having that for lunch covered in american cheese flavour sauce!

No photos but i just had a lovely lamb jalfrezi with pilau rice and a couple of japati, brilliant mixture of spice and flavour, just perfect!
