Too big for a system drive?

I'm currently in the process of upgrading my HDDs and have come to a dilemma. I've just purchased a couple of 750GB drives to replace a single WD 500GB drive for storage which is now redundant. However I could use it to replace a Seagate 250GB 7200.10 as my system drive (with the notorious seek noise), is 500GB a little OTT for this purpose?

I use a F1 750GB as my main drive, it has two 25GB partitions, one has XP installed and the other has Vista installed, the rest is in two partitions for games and rest.
