Too early to put up tree?

Should I put the tree up yet?

Normally, I would be a week before person, but my son is 18 months, so am thinking it should go up early. Is this too soon? Is there actually a correct/official day?
 
Ours is up. I don't see the point in the people that do it on like xmas eve. Then it comes down a week later. Get it up. Get it done.
 
Ours has been up for 3 weeks already :o (but the tree was given to us and we had nowhere to put it)

Not a clue what we gonna do with it after, it's massive.

But yeah it's ment to be 12 days before and take them down 12 days after, but if you have kids i think you should have them up ready for the 1st (For when they open there calander with the best choccy ever!)
 
When I was young we always had real trees which meant they went up during the week before xmas. If it went up too early there'd be nothing left of it by new year.

As a result, to me it just feels wrong putting them up any earlier even though most people have an artificial tree nowadays.
 
parents have theirs up, friends have theirs up, my house doesn't have one, though I don't spend much time anywhere other than the kitchen/my room, so no need, and xmas will be spent at my parents, so it's all there for me :p
 
The 12 days of christmas is from christmas day till Epiphany which is when tree/decorations are taken down - not about putting up of the tree.
 
I wouldn't normally have mine up yet, but I'm having a party next weekend and I'm busy all week so it went up last night:
