Too early to put up tree?

Not too early any more as it seems a lot of people are ignoring the 12-day thing and putting trees up at the beginning of the month. Lots of my neighbours have decorations up now with one or two in the last week of November.

December 1st is when we usually put ours up. It sits up for a full month as it's always taken down January 1st. Growing up was always the same for me. My wife's parents wouldn't put theirs up until a few days before Christmas and now that she's older, she begs me to put it up in November.

were going for ours possibly friday.

at earliest i would say begining of 2nd week of december, ive seen people with lights on their houses in november which is just ridiculous.

Put mine up this weekend, usually id leave it till next saturday but Im busy all week. Certainly wouldn't have put it up any earlier

Traditionally it should be put on up Christmas eve so that the 12th day of Christmas is inline with the 6th of Jan (or Epiphany if you're that way inclined). Christmas is always creeping earlier and earlier these days. It doesn't really vex me, but I just don't "get" it I guess.

However most people tend to put it up 12 days before as well - however 24days of a tree in the house is a bit mad, but it's up to you to do what the heck you want!

However, it's your house your rules, if you want to put the tree up now, go ahead - you don't need to seek permission from anyone for that. :)

I don't see the point myself, though if I had kids I guess I'd feel differently. As a male adult in my own home I have absolutely no need or want for a Christmas tree or decorations. However I do love Christmas, but I need not such things to embrace the season.

Put mine up a few days ago. 3 year old was transfixed, 6 week old just stared at the pretty lights.

Good times.

I've never had one since living on my own, but the mrs wanted me to get one and it's nice for the house to be decorated as I'm having a xmas party.

Mine will be up this weekend, don't have any set time to put it up except not before December.

I wouldn't normally have mine up yet, but I'm having a party next weekend and I'm busy all week so it went up last night:
We don't have a set time either (as long as it is Dec) but usually tend not to go as early as the first weekend.

However we're also having friends over next weekend and won't have any time during the week so I nipped out on Sat evening and got one, decorated it yesterday. :)

I usually stick mine up 2 saturdays before xmas and take it down on the 2nd or 3rd of jan. I dont think its too eary though, its december so fire away

Chopped ours down on Saturday, up now, bloody good job as the field was packed with people, luckily most wanting the little trees not the big 9ft ones :)
