Just found this while browsing another forum.

Too good to be true?.

I'm a bit sceptical of it, but if it is completely free, it might come in handy as a backup or additional place to host things alongside your main host.

Anyone used it before?.

*EDIT* Google 000webhost.com/ and there are some very strange results in the search.

No its good. I use it.
It is completely free.
Just be wary of the affiliate program, I do not trust it, as all you need is a paypal email address.

Cool, I might give it a go then!!

Good to know someone else uses it and thinks it is ok.

Wanted to check first, thanks for the confirmation.

perhaps pee off other web hosting companies enough to get a buy out.

the weird thing is that they offer cash for affiliate sales.

I wouldn't trust free hosting. My sites are too important, every one of them. What happens if you've got a problem are they gonna be interested because they're not earning any cash? Or if the cash runs out, they get switched off and your sites are gone in an instant.

I think it's worth investing in a little decent hosting, which can be had for as little as £15 - £30 for a year - and backed by companies that are well known on here.

Agreed.

I would not use them for customers sites but for sticking various bits and bobs of date, images etc up online, it could come in handy.

I'm thinking of using it for that sort of thing but when it comes to business and clients, no.....I would steer clear.

I heard thier affiliate never pays out. All you give is a paypal address

I used it for a few weeks but the cPanel isn't the most recent version. Doesn't have options like fantastico. It's great for that price though and I use it as a back up.

Looks great, I was looking for a free host to play with :D
On the subject of free providers: are there any good free shell account providers out there?
