This game has been getting a lot of negative press leading up to its launch, some of which I feel is a little unfair so I thought I'd give it its own thread.

In my opinion this guy is spot on - good defense of a somewhat unfairly criticised game: http://www.planetxbox360.com/article_4486/Kevin_Pereira_Defends_Too_Human_to_the_Internet_Fanboys

I was disappointed with the eurogamer review, which gave the game a 6. Comments such as "We weren't able to test the online co-op, but feel free to add another point to the score if that sort of thing is really important to you" make me suspicious that the reviewer was a bit too eager to put another nail in its coffin and keep the bandwagon rolling. Of course online co-op is important for this type of game! Diablo anyone?

The first time I played through the demo I thought it was average. Then I gave it another crack with a different class and I've ended running through it about 4 times. Yes the script is laughable on occasion but then its a game not the latest Cohen brothers movie. It doesn't live or die by the quality of its script and the game mechanics are solid. Also, all this bitching about 'broken camera angles' - switch to iso camera mode. Problem solved.

I'll be buying a copy, co-op online should be a a lot of fun.

I agree, this game shouldn't become another bandwagon for slating. I enjoyed this game throughly and don't suffer from hype as I can now see right through it. I agree they went on and on about this game for years and possibly this is why people are so negative about it when it doesn't meet a certain standard or meet what they were looking for.

I am looking forward to it's release and was very disappointed with Eurogamers review...I usually agree with their reviews, but this time I feel it was used to spin the bandwagon further.

Good point about the hype Booner. I hadn't heard anything about the game until I played the demo so I had no preconceptions about what kind of game it should be.

At least Silicon Knights tried to do something a bit different with what is essentially a dungeon crawl game. Combat is extremely important in this genre and I think they deserve credit for developing an interesting and fun system.

If every game that tries something different and isn't super polished on release is roundly slated we'll all be left playing Halo 10 or some other tried and tested formula for success.

It wasn't the game that was hyped so much but the developer. Back when they were a second party studio to Nintendo. Them and Retro studio's were touted as being the next Rare for Nintendo. Making the awesome Eternal Darkness which scored very high across the board and the excellent remake of MGS 1. Alas just like Rare, without Nintendo's assistance they failed.

I didnt get on with the controls in the Demo, didnt like the Right Thumb Stick being attack, just was not fluid for me :(

Hope it can be changed in the full game, however i doubt it!

played the demo for a third time, it is growinjust gonna be added tog slowley on me, but its deffo going on my rental list, not purchase!

Because a) I'm desperate for something new and slightly rpgie to play and b) I quite enjoyed what little I played of the demo and c) I've snagged a preorder for £29.99 I've got this coming Friday so I'll be happy to give a review early next week.

Who else (other than V0id) is definately getting it on release?

I want this, I love the demo. Agreed the controls could have been better, But I have no problem adjusting.

I prefer it to force unleashed.... I say that because they are the 2 demos I currently have. :D

Should I duck now?

Not in my opinion, Force Unleashed is rubbish. Three hits with a lightsaber to kill a stormtrooper? No thanks. If I wanted to beat people to death with blunt objects I'd play Condemned instead.

thought that myself when playing the demo the lightsaber can cut through really think stell doors etc but not a storm trooper :(

Thought i might have got a despatch email today, but nothing so far.

I think peoples problem with this, is that they expect it to be another mass effect, when its really nothing of the sort.
