it was a simple question, and graphics do play a bit part of any game :rolleyes:
 
how is that wrong? you are disagreeing that graphics don't play a bit part to a game? something like farcry for example was a massive success using a combination of graphics and gameplay without either the game would have flopped

You either cant speak, or make very regular typos.

Games like Farcry and Crysis rely almost entirely on their graphics to pull their utterly mundane gameplay up to some sort of standard. That works on little kids, not many other people. Good graphics add to a game, sure, but they dont make one.
 
Far Cry, well that was a decent game.

Far Cry 2, ummm no. All the pretty graphics cannot hide the fact for how boring the game really is.
 
Amazes me that people can even think that graphics 'make a game'....

Why not go look at a picture of a nice view, thats about a real as graphics get.

Gameplay over GFX's anyday.
 
i said it makes big part of the game, it's often what sells it and brings in the reviews and the fan base that will drive it. if you take any of the big hitters over the last few years they will all have high stats on the graphics and the game play.
 
Css compared to Cod4 for example there is a massive graphical difference... not that I think that makes much difference as I still prefer Css over Cod4.
 
CSS is still quite fun, but I'll admit it has dated since its release. However gamplay is far more important than graphics, though having good graphics helps. Only thing I find about CSS is that its quite hard to get back into it if you've been out of it since say L4D came out :) The players that play it all the time are too good at it for an old lag to get back in let alone someone who has never played the game before!

Anyway if you want really dated looking, try Half Life: Deathmatch or CS1.6...

that was my problem, i was playing cod4 and then gave cs a try and could not pend my head round the graphical aspect of it... maybe i'm shallow :p
 
I stopped playing CS:S ages ago cos there are far too many hackers playing it now, headshot from 600 yards away with a pistol whilst i was mid-air? nice one :rolleyes:
