Hey,

I think i have too many PCS! I have just come into 15 computers, 14 of them being Pentiums and 1 a Pentium 3.

Any ideas with these?

Mark :)

I don't think anyone will buy them, as i don't know a use for them myself yet.

Some dude was clearing his cellar, so i thought why not - i'll fill mine.

I don't want to throw them away.

Skip probably is the best place.

If electricity bills don't scare you there's the option of networking them and using it as a small cluster. It'll still be slower than a modern computer, but it'll be interesting forcing them to work together. Could fold on the end result, probably be the first person to run the client across 15 pentium 1s

I was just going to suggest this... or you could network them, contruct a frame to put them all in and sell it as a server, you'd be sure to have more interest then :p

Since the other 14 are pentiums, id say you've only got 1:D You can keep them until they become a rare antique:cool:

I believe clusters work by running a single main computer which offloads processing jobs to the rest of the computers, would seem to be the obvious place for the P3

toomany pc's

I don't know where you live. If you live in the UK, then contact your local Baptist Church aand ask for details of the charity that takes all sorts to
Romania. They will be very greatfull, but you may have to transport them a little way to a local Depot.
If you live in the US or Canada I suggest you do a search for charities tha6t may well take them off your hands.

Whichever option you chose, make sure you have removed ALL your data from the drives, or if you have the original licence for the OS that's on them as well as a windows cd/dvd, then you could always do a format and rebuild.
